Honda 1.8L i-VTEC engine  






This is the new power plant that is in the latest Honda Civic. Although it was introduce in 2005, but it has a significant design win to improve an already great platform. The manufacturer code name for it is called R18A1. Older model of Civic has smaller engines like 1.7L or less. Well we are not counting the bigger K-series which mostly planted into the Si or Type R models. It is not exceptionally powerful but its fuel efficiency is excellent. This 1.8L has power like a 2.0L but fuel efficiency of a 1.7L and when it is cruising on the highway, the fuel consumption is like a 1.5L.

R18A1—1.8-liter SOHC 16-valve I4 engine
140 hp @ 6,300 rpm
128 lb-ft @ 4,300 rpm
Redline: 6,800 rpm
Aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head

My first car: Fiat 132  














This is my first Italian Stallion. I believe it was a 1981-82 model. My dad bought it to replace a Alfa Romeo. It was then pass to my mom for her daily used. In 1989, it was then pass on to me. I was a proud owner of a Italian 2.0 liter 4 door car. It was really a good car except for the electrical components of the car. I have to changed the radiator because it was too small. The alternator was underpowered. So my dad changed it to a Japanese one. After that, it was a perfect car for a college student. Read more!
